How to Find a Surrogate
Searching and choosing a surrogate might seem like impossible tasks to do on your own. Dreams of Parenthood is here to give you a helping hand. If you are looking to conceive through donor eggs or a surrogate, here are 9 simple steps that you can follow.
Application
If you’re on the search for a surrogate, fill out our intake form. We request you to answer our questions in detail so we can learn how to help you.
Consultation
Once we receive your application, our team will be in touch to get to know you better. We tailor our services to fit your expectations for this process.
Selection of Candidates
Browse through and select candidates that are suitable to be your donor/surrogate. Let our team know of any specifications you have for your egg donors, such as their blood type, height, age, race, and educational background. For intended parents in need of a surrogate, we recommend that you create embryos beforehand.
Signing the Agency Agreement
Once your choices for a donor/surrogate have been finalized, sign an agreement with our agency.
The Matching Process
Once you’ve selected a donor/surrogate, our team will get started on the matching paperwork. Our donor program is anonymous, but we work closely with the center and the egg donors to relay all updates to the intended parents. The surrogate program is a longer process. Once intended parents and surrogates have agreed to proceed with the program, we encourage them to meet with each other. Our case manager will coordinate with both parties to ensure the process goes smoothly.
Obtaining Medical Clearance
After finding a match, intended parents and donors/surrogates need to undergo medical screening tests to ensure they’re physically and emotionally prepared for the process ahead. Tests include, but are not limited to, a medical examination, genetic screenings, FDA laboratory testing, and psychological evaluations.
Signing the Contract with Your Donor/Surrogate & Your Fund Trust
Review the contract with your donor/surrogate with guidance from your attorney and our legal team. We will walk you through this process, and clarify any doubts you have about the contract and investment costs.
Starting the Cycle
Upon receiving legal clearance, your medical team will begin the donor/surrogate process.
Completing the Cycle
We work closely with your medical team throughout the donor process. The cycle is complete once the egg is retrieved from the donor. The surrogacy cycle begins with the implantation and continues through the gestation and pregnancy period, eventually leading to successful delivery.
